What this site does
Grab lets you download videos and audio from public URLs. It runs yt-dlp on the server, grabs the file, hands it to you, and deletes it within 30 minutes. That's it. There is no account system, no saved library, nothing stored long-term.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you download. Grab is a tool, not a license to pirate content. Only download material you have the right to save, whether that's your own uploads, Creative Commons content, or anything the copyright holder has made freely available.
Don't use this service to violate copyright law, circumvent DRM, or break the terms of service of any platform. If you do, that's on you.
No guarantees
The site is provided as-is. Downloads can fail, formats can change, sites can block things. I don't guarantee availability, uptime, or that any particular URL will work. I'm not liable for anything that happens as a result of using this service.
Limits
- Max file size: 2 GB per download
- Files are deleted automatically after 30 minutes
- Rate limits apply to prevent abuse
- I can restrict or shut down access at any time, for any reason
Privacy
Grab does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts. There are no accounts and no sign-ups.
Your download history is stored in your browser's local storage only. It never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time from the main page.
What the server sees
Standard web server logs are kept temporarily for debugging and abuse prevention. These contain:
- Your IP address
- The URL you submitted for download
- Timestamps
- Basic request info (browser, status codes)
Logs are not shared with anyone and are not used for profiling or marketing. They rotate automatically and are not stored indefinitely.
Third-party services
Google Fonts (Sora) is loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log font requests according to their own privacy policy. That's the only external service involved.
Copyright and takedown requests
Grab does not host, store, or index any copyrighted content. It acts as a temporary processing tool. Downloaded files exist on the server for a maximum of 30 minutes before automatic deletion.
